Course Registration - Important Announcement

Important Announcement for Course Add/Drop Exercise (Semester 1, 2025/26)

(not applicable to Exchange students)

Classes for Semester 1 will begin on 1 September.  Please check your updated course enrolment record and class timetable before attending classes (click "My Enrolment Records & Class Timetable"). 

Online course add/drop (on a first-come-first-served basis) has been scheduled for 1-13 September (except for 7 September).  Since there have been changes in the course offerings and class schedule, you may check the updated information in “Course information” via BUniPort.

Announcement

1. All final year students are advised to generate the Graduation Audit Report via the BUniPort (Result > Graduation Audit Check) to check whether you have fulfilled the graduation requirements.
2. Message from Academy of Visual Arts: 
    

   [a] Students taking courses offered by the Academy of Visual Arts are required to pay material fee.  For details, please contact the Academy of Visual Arts.
   
   [b] The venue of the first class of some courses offered by the Academy of Visual Arts may not be the same as that shown on the class timetable. Please click HERE for details in early September 2025.

3. For the requirements on General Education courses, please visit the website of General Education Office via the links below: 
   
   (i) For students of bulletin year 2017 or before  (students can take courses under the new GE programme to fulfill the requirements)
   
   (ii) For students of bulletin year 2018 or after 

4. Medium of Instruction of UCLC1005 University Chinese (applicable to Year 1 students only)
    

   As part of the language requirements for graduation, all students are required to take the University Chinese course.  Mainland students (admitted via Mainland admission scheme) will be assigned to the sections with Putonghua as medium of instruction while local students will be assigned to Cantonese sections.  Students who would like to change to another section with a different medium of instruction should do so during the Course Pre-registration period, or the Course Add/drop period. 

5. Message from Language Centre: 
    

   LANG1026 Practical Putonghua

   With effect from the 2018-2019 academic year, results in LANG1026 Practical Putonghua will be excluded from GPA calculation.  Distinction/Pass/Fail will be used to classify students' performance.

6. Message from Academy of Wellness and Human Development
   
   The venue of the first class of some UCHL courses offered by the Academy of Wellness and Human Development may not be the same as that shown on the class timetable. Please click HERE for details in early September 2025.
