MTR Student Travel Scheme

New / Renewal Application of the Student Octopus Card for Academic Year 2021/22 (For all UGC-funded UG programmes and BCom (Hons) in Accountancy)


*Application period:  starting from 1 September 2021 at 9:00am onwards


Students can now complete application form online and upload an image of their valid student ID card, with no need to get the physical school endorsement anymore.  The whole application procedure can now be completed in two easy steps:


  1. Submit online applications external link by MTR Mobile / MTR website  
  2. Activate the “Student Status” by using the Octopus App

Notification with instructions will be sent to successful applicants.

*Students who have submitted their online application through MTR Mobile or MTR Website from 1 September to 31 October 2021 can click here to join the Early Bird Reward Program to earn 3,000 MTR Points.


< MTR received several enquiries regarding the instruction to open attachment in the confirmation email as students mistakenly entered a wrong date of birth with the Apple iOS device default calendar.  Since date of birth is an essential element in the verification process, a simple tutorial is enclosed to better facilitate students when filling in their date of birth and thus opening the email attachment with the Apple iOS device successfully. >
