Convocation

Registration and Attendance

1. The Convocation is one of the traditions of the University to celebrate the beginning of an academic year. All new students are encouraged to attend the ceremony.
2. The Convocation this year will be conducted at the Academic Community Hall (AC Hall) of Hong Kong Baptist University.
3. Registration for the ceremony will start from 12 August to 25 August 2026 on here. Students who have successfully registered for the event will receive a confirmation email of their registration. They may also check their registration status on the Student Learning Experience System (SLES).
4. Attendance of the ceremony will be recognized as one Co-Curricular Learning (CCL) unit.
5. Admittance to the AC Hall will start at 1:30 p.m. All student participants should be seated by 2:00 pm and no admittance will be allowed afterward.
6. CCL will be NOT counted if,

                     1. Students join the ceremony late

                     2. Students are uncooperative to follow rules and requirements during the ceremony

7. Students should be properly dressed in undergraduate gowns when entering the ceremony venue. Students without a gown will NOT be admitted.

The Office may revise the above guidelines as needed.

University Gown for Undergraduate Students

1. Students attending the Convocation are required to dress properly in undergraduate gowns.
2. More details on the collection of gowns will be provided in due course. Students of self-financed undergraduate degree programme shall contact their programme offices for the collection of gowns.
