Minor Programme in China Studies
 

Students seeking to pursue the study of a minor programme would need to fulfil 16 units of courses specified by the offering department/programme, and note that no registration priority will be given to enrolment in minor courses. Upon completion of the 16 units required for the minor programmes, students should apply to the Academic Registry for approval.

Elective Courses 15 units*
Up to three of the following courses:  
  CHSE/ECON 2220 Foundations of Chinese Economy 3 units
  CHSE/ECON 3710 China's Foreign Economic Relations & Trade 3 units
  CHSE/ECON 3720 Industrial Management & Development in China 3 units
  CHSE/ECON 3730 Money & Finance in China 3 units
  ECON 2660 Economy of Hong Kong & Pan-Pearl River Delta 3 units
  Up to three of the following courses:  
  CHSG/GEOG 1620 Hong Kong & the Pearl River Delta: A Survey 3 units
  CHSG/GEOG 2110 Regional Geography of China 3 units
  CHSG/GEOG 3850 Resource Management in China 3 units
  CHSG/GEOG 3880 Rural & Agricultural Development in China 3 units
  CHSG/GEOG 3890 Urban Development in China 3 units
  Up to three of the following courses:  
  CHSH/HIST 1620 Perspectives on Chinese History 3 units
  CHSH/HIST 2210 Introduction to Modern Chinese History 3 units
  CHSH/HIST 3820 Contemporary China 3 units
  HIST 3870 Overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia 3 units
  Up to three of the following courses:  
  CHSS/SOC 2240 Modern Chinese Society 3 units
  CHSS/SOC 3850 Chinese Family & Kinship 3 units
  CHSS/SOC 3860 Women in China 3 units
  CHSS/SOC 3980 Selected Topics in Sociology of China I 3 units
  SOC 2250 Traditional Chinese Society 3 units
  Up to three of the following courses:  
  CHSP/POLS 1520 Government & Politics of China 3 units
  CHSP/POLS 2620 Ideology & Socialism in China 3 units
  CHSP/POLS 2630 Chinese Legal System 3 units

* Students cannot take courses from the department of his/her major. Only two courses can be of Level 1000 courses.
