Master of Science in Personal Health Management (Chinese Medicine)

The programme aims at promoting the public knowledge of the benefit of Chinese medicine and its application in health management services in the society and corporations; bringing in an integration of the knowledge and skills of Chinese medicine in health preservation/rehabilitation and the conventional medicine with the prevailing methods and skills in health management; nurturing a generation of high calibre personnel in health management with a new emphasis on Chinese medicine, who will contribute to public health management and health education promotion in Hong Kong and beyond.

 
Programme of Study

For full-time basis, the normal programme of study for the programme is one year, and the maximum study period is two years. For part-time basis, the normal programme of study for the programme is two years, and the maximum study period is three years. Lectures, practicum and dissertation are arranged.

It is a 30-unit programme comprised of Compulsory Courses (27 units) and Dissertation (3 units).

  MHM 7070 Serial Lectures in Personal Health Management 1 unit
  MHM 7080 Rehabilitative Nursing in Chinese Medicine 2 units
  MHM 7090 Health Management of Common Urban Diseases 2 units
  MHM 7100 Cosmetology in Chinese Medicine 2 units
  MHM 7110 Public Health Education & Personal Health Assessment 2 units
  MHM 7120 Nutrition & Food Hygiene 2 units

Supplementary Course (for those who have not previously studied CM or CM Pharmacy under conditional offer):
  MPS 7510 Overview on Chinese Medicine & Chinese Materia Medica 4 units
 

The academic results of the supplementary course obtained by the students will be recorded in the students' transcript (Satisfactory/Fail) without GPA grading and the study units of the supplementary course will not be added to the total study units.
