The Academy of Film is the chief provider of cinema, television and media education in Hong Kong in terms of its size, the breadth of programs, distinguished alumni and strong industry connections. Since the early seventies, it has been dedicated to the provision of cinematic-arts and creative media education to cultivate talented professionals capable of contributing to Hong Kongˇ¦s arts and cultural industries. The Academy has a strong teaching and research team comprised of more than fifty teaching staff. The expertise of our faculty includes the following areas: film and media studies, film and television production, script writing, post-production, digital animation and media. One of the most reputable film and media programmes in the Greater China region, the Academy offers broad training in both practical and theoretical dimensions with an aim to broaden studentsˇ¦ academic vision and equip them with thorough professional knowledge. The Academy currently offers four full-time programmes at higher diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels including Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production, Bachelor of Communication (Honours) ˇV Film Major, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Writing for Film, Television and New Media and Master of Fine Arts in Film, Television and Digital Media. The 4-year Film Major programme offers a unique integration of two concentrations ˇV Film and Television Concentration, Animation and Media Arts Concentration ˇV to equip students with the knowledge required to develop careers in the creative industries, such as film and television production, digital animation and media ˇV or arts-related administration. Film and Television Concentration provides broad training in film, video and television, with attention to relevant areas of theory, history, and practice. Animation and Media Arts Concentration provides theoretical training in visual media and creativity, with an emphasis on digital animation and interactivity. |
