Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Humanities
 

The BA (Hons) in Humanities programme is dedicated to giving broad liberal arts education. It consists of three distinct characteristics:

 
a) Interdisciplinarity:All the Humanities Core courses employ diverse disciplines. Art criticism, language, literature, history, philosophy, media studies would be come across in the study.
b) Bilingual Teaching and Learning:Bilingual Teaching and Learning: Students will read, write and speak in Chinese as well as English, developing their skills in both languages. By doing so, students will be able to respond to Hong Kong¡¦s specific linguistic environment.
c) Cross-culturalism:Cross-culturalism: Most of the Humanities Core courses emphasize the comparison of Chinese and Western cultures, with frequent references to other cultures.

Note:

1.

HUM students who want to have a Concentration can apply 3 units of their elective units and the currently suggested 18 units (6 courses) to make up the new 21-unit Concentration requirement. The remaining 6 units of their major electives should go to one course in each of the other areas of study for the original purpose of broadening their study horizons.

2.

Students who do not opt for a Concentration will continue to choose at least two courses in the three areas of study as their major electives.
