Minor Programmes in French, German and Japanese Languages (3-year)

Students seeking to pursue the study of a Minor programme would need to fulfil 15 units of courses specified by the offering department/programme, and note that no registration priority will be given to enrolment on Minor courses. Upon completion of the 15 units required for the Minor programmes, students should apply to the Academic Registry for approval.

Requirements for French Language Programme

Required Courses				9 units
	FREN	1610	French I	3 units
	FREN	1620	French II	3 units
	FREN	2620	French III	3 units

Elective Courses				6 units
	Two of the following courses:
	FREN	2630	French IV	3 units
	FREN	3620	French V	3 units
	FREN	3630	Contemporary French Society through Its National Cinema	3 units

				15 units

Students in the French Stream of the BSocSc (Hons) in European Studies programme are not allowed to claim the Minor in the French language.


Requirements for German Language Programme

Required Courses				9 units
	GERM	1610	German I	3 units
	GERM	1620	German II	3 units
	GERM	2620	German III	3 units

Elective Courses				6 units
	Two of the following courses:
	GERM	2630	German IV	3 units
	GERM	3630	Business German	3 units
	GERM	3640	Creative Writing in German	3 units
	GERM	3650	German Language, Culture & Society	3 units

				15 units

Students in the German Stream of the BSocSc (Hons) in European Studies programme are not allowed to claim the Minor in the German language.

Elective Courses				6 units
	Two of the following courses:

	JPN	3010	Japanese V	3 units
	JPN	3610	Business Japanese	3 units

Remarks: Students should note that the above courses in the three Minor programmes may not be offered every semester.
