The curriculum can be divided into several parts:

1. Main Discipline Fundamental Courses
It includes Chemistry for Life Science, Biochemistry, Medicinal Botany and Zoology, Anatomy, Histology and Physiology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Immunology, Pharmacology and Toxicology, History of Chinese Medicine, Chinese Materia Medica, Chinese Medicinal Formulae, etc. These courses help students to grasp the basic knowledge in life science and lay a solid foundation for scientific researches in the future.

2. Complementary Studies Courses
These include Religion and Philosophy, English, Medical Ethics, Physical Education, information management technology, etc., which are offered in line with the University's commitment to "whole-person education".

3. Main Discipline Professional Courses
These include the study of Herbal Pharmacology, Phytochemistry, Chinese Medicine Preparation Analysis, Resources of Medicinal Plants, and Unique Processing Methods of Chinese Medicines, etc. These courses enhance students' ability to undertake professional practice and further research and strengthen their development capability in the discipline.

4. Elective Courses
Six elective courses are available for students to choose from. They intend to broaden the scope of knowledge of the students according to their needs and interests.

5. Supervised Practicum and Project Report
Students will spend the final year of study in supervised practicum. Practicum bases include pharmaceutical plants, hospitals, botanical gardens in Mainland and Hong Kong. Students are required to carry out an independent research topic on a specific field under the supervision of a Principal Supervisor. At the end of the projects, they are required to write a thesis and deliver an oral presentation.
