Minor Programme in Creative Writing (4-year)

Students seeking to pursue the study of a minor programme would need to fulfil 15 units of courses specified by the offering department/programme, and note that no registration priority will be given to enrolment in minor courses. Upon completion of the 15 units required for the minor programmes, students should apply to the Academic Registry for approval.

Requirements

	Four of the following courses, of which at least two must be at Level III or above:

	ENGL	3037	Creative Writing Workshop	3 units

	HUMN	3025	Chinese Song Lyric Writing	3 units
	LANG	1015	Creative Writing in Chinese	3 units
	LANG	2005	Creative Writing through Masterpieces	3 units
	LANG	2006	English through Creative Writing	3 units
	LANG	2007	Refining Chinese Writing Skills	3 units
	LANG	3005	Creative Writing in Children's Literature in English	3 units
	LANG	3006	Creative Writing: Modern Chinese Poetry	3 units

*	If both LANG 1015 Creative Writing in Chinese and LANG 2006 English through Creative Writing are taken by students with bilingual proficiency, one of which will be counted as a required course while the other an elective.

Progression

Students taking Creative Writing as a Minor are required to take LANG 1015 Creative Writing in Chinese or LANG 2006 English through Creative Writing as the foundation course first before they progress to the elective component (4 other courses from the list).
