Bachelor of Communication (Honours)
 

The Bachelor of Communication (Honours) programme offers a variety of ways to explore the exciting field of communication, and equips graduates with the skills required to embark on stimulating and meaningful careers, postgraduate studies, or both. All Majors are designed in the spirit of the University¡¦s tradition of ¡§whole-person education¡¨, and more than half the units in every Major are devoted to General Education (GE) courses or to courses of the student¡¦s free choice anywhere in the University. Students spend the first year of the four-year programme mainly covering required GE courses, and have the opportunity to take two common School courses that will help them choose their Major, which takes place during the second semester. Possible double Majors or Major-Minor combinations are also available.

 
The structure of the curriculum is as follows:
 
I) School Core Courses 12 units
II) Major Core Courses (See each Major) 12-19 units
III) Concentration Required Courses (see each Concentration) 23-33 units
IV) Major Elective Courses (see each Major) 3-9 units
V) Free Electives 30 units
VI) General Education 38 units

The Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Communication programme has been restructured and retitled as “Bachelor of Communication (Honours)” with effect from the 2016/17 academic year. Students admitted to the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Communication programme in 2015 and previous intakes please refer to the Calendar/Bulletin (of their respective intake years) at the AR website for information on the specific programme structure and graduation requirements.
