Clinical Division
Director: Prof Bian Zhao Xiang

The Hong Kong Baptist University started its Chinese medicine clinical operations in 1997 for the provision of quality Chinese medicine services to the public and also clinical teaching bases for the Chinese medicine students. In order to strengthen its clinical teaching activities, the School of Chinese Medicine set up the Clinical Division in July 2001 to oversee the operations of and coordinate amongst the affiliating Chinese medicine clinics. At present, a total of fifteen Chinese medicine clinics have been established to provide out-patient services.

Teaching Activities
The Clinical Division, which arranges and manages the teaching activities of clinical practicum/internship and pharmaceutical practicum together with the Full-time Programme Unit and the Part-time Programme Unit, is one of the main clinical teaching bases of the School.

Medical Services
In addition to serving as a practicum base for the students of the School, the Clinical Division also provides quality Chinese medical and healthcare services to the community. In the past decade of its operation, a total of over 1,280,000 patient attendances have been serviced. To provide safe and quality medical and healthcare services, particularly Chinese medicine speciality services, is one of the major objectives of the Clinical Division.

Clinical Research
Clinical research is a prerequisite for the advancement of the academic quality and modernization of Chinese medicine. Therefore, clinical research is also an area of emphasis of the Clinical Division. The Division works closely with other Divisions of the School to conduct clinical research.
