* A minority of students are allowed to opt for an exchange study in lieu of placement, if they meet certain GPA requirements. Students who have gone on exchange are required to attend and pass at least three courses per semester for at least two semesters. A maximum of six credits of their studies abroad can be transferred back to HKBU. They also have to submit a portfolio upon their return to carry on with their 5th and final year of study at HKBU. The portfolio should include assignments and work that they have submitted for courses that they have taken and also an essay of reflection on their studies abroad.
