Message from President
Dear Graduates of 2019 and 2020
Given the volatilities of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am writing to inform you that the University, after careful consideration and deliberation, has decided that the Commencement ceremonies for the 2019 and 2020 graduating classes (bachelor’s and master’s degrees) would be held online.
I understand that there is certainly no replacement for an in-person commencement to mark your accomplishments after years of hard work, I surely can feel your disappointment. Yet, your health and safety are our top priority. It is indeed an extremely difficult decision to make, but I believe that it is a responsible and right decision for the benefits of graduates, families and our colleagues. I plead for your understanding in this regard.
The schedule of the ceremonies is as follows:
Sunday, 15 November 2020 (afternoon)
Session 1: 2019 Class
Session 2: 2020 Class
Monday, 16 November 2020 (afternoon)
Session 3: Honorary Degrees and Doctoral Degrees
Despite the current challenges, my colleagues would seek out creative ways to bring you a memorable and impressive event. We want you, your families and friends to share all of the pride and joy that you so richly deserve at the University’s first-ever virtual graduation ceremony.
Detailed information and arrangements of the ceremonies will be announced by the Academic Registry very soon. Please stay tuned.
Meanwhile, please stay vigilant and healthy.
