I am more thangrateful for all the opportunities and challenges that have been given by HKBU.
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Year 4
I really appreciate that I got the chances to be admitted to HKBU Chemistry Department and C.N. Yang Hall.
During my three-year study at HKBU, the professors assisted me a lot in the academic aspect. They provide me with solutions to my problems as well as the misunderstandings towards particular topics. Besides, professors give me advice on my future. The department arranges career workshops for us to let us have an easier way to find job opportunities when we graduate.
C.N. Yang Hall gave me a lot! I can enjoy hall life with all the Yangsters. They are just like my family in Hong Kong, giving me supports, providing me a shoulder when I need it. Student hall is a special place where you can make friends with a variety of people from different majors, sharing knowledge and having fun together. I will never regret that I stayed in the C.N. Yang Hall.
There are a lot of opportunities provided by HKBU. In the summer of my Year 3 study, I was given a chance to have a research exchange programme in America which I gained more exposure.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Year 4
It was my wisest decision to join in the Computer Science Department and the Faculty of Science of HKBU. They are wonderful families with kind and knowledgeable professors, enthusiastic students and first-class equipment for studying and research. Here, you will have unlimited opportunities to get involved in exchange, internship, competitions, cutting-edge research projects, connections with world-wide prestigious scientists and many other fascinating activities -- And all of these will be guaranteed with plenty of scholarships and stipends to help you achieve whatever you dream in your university life.
During my life here, I went and will go for exchange twice and joined two research projects. I visited McGill University, Canada, for one semester last year, and I am going to Technische Universität München (TUM), Germany, in my final semester. I participated in the summer research programme in 2015 at HKBU, and participated an overseas summer research programme in University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, this year. Meanwhile, I joined many activities such as the Science Elite Programme which involves a series of events including the Outward Bound Certificate Course. I was also awarded the IEEE Hong Kong Section Prize with nomination of my department. I do not even need to mention how much you could learn from those overseas and research experiences, and remember that all these activities will be financially supported by the department and faculty. So come and join us, and that will be your best choice ever!
Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Operations Research, Year 4
My three-year study at HKBU has been unforgettable and inspiring. Currently studying mathematics, I am glad that I have engaged in several useful courses such as probability and statistics, simulation and mathematical finance, in which I can combine my studies with real experience to solve real life problems. I have gained not only knowledge but also the ability to question, analyse and solve mathematics problems.
Being surrounded by opportunities, I have taken part in various activities to enrich my university life: studying abroad in the UK, volunteering in Vietnamese middle school through AIESEC, organising an opening music show with friends from Band Society, working in a Hungarian kindergarten, joining a short-term Korea study tour... I was surprised by the large number of programmes which offered to undergraduates! Nothing compares with the journey on your own feet—I appreciate every single chance that was given to me, to let me get involved, discover and understand other cultures and people.
Bachelor of Arts in History, Year 4
As a History major student, I am studying in a warm family. Professors and students are quite close, and professors are very devoted and willing to help us face challenges. Our department also provides us with sources and scholarships, which encourage us to pursue our own goal. Studying in History department strengthens my confidence and encourages me to make my dream –to be a historian--come true.
Exchange is another impressive experience for me. HKBU not only gave me the chance to exchange in the U.S., but also provides financial assistance. It is really amazing for me to exchange overseas and experience cultural diversity. I made a lot of new friends from different countries and we still keep in touch after I came back to Hong Kong. Meeting a lot of inspiring people when I traveled around the U.S. inspires me to always keep passion in life.
Come to HKBU! You will have plenty of opportunities to widen your horizon and have a fruitful university life!

Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Recreation Management, Year 4
Having a passion for Physical Education as well as a mission to nurture students, I have finished 4-year study at HKBU.
Physical education, sports and recreation management are much more than books and theories. I am thankful that I have got many practicing opportunities from the Physical Education Department. Physical Education and Recreation Management (PERM) is a pluralistic programme which allows me to experience plenty of sports, gain practice in tackling sport injuries, learn how to do scientific research and experience internship in the YWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge. In addition, the strong bonding within our department has given us a great network in the field of sports. All these resources, platforms and opportunities shaped me as a professional sportsperson. I am glad to be a “PERMER” of HKBU.
Apart from PERM studies, I have experienced two valuable teaching practices which offered by the Education Department. I believe every single student is unique. Therefore, the core value of lesson design of my practicum was to teach students according to their aptitude. I was glad to receive affirmation from the principals, teachers and supervisors.
This was a remarkable experience in my entire life. I have been equipped. I am now confident in taking up the responsibility of PE teaching and I am looking forward to accompanying with students and assisting them to be better individuals.
